SUBSTANTIATION OF THE STRUCTURE AND CONTENT OF THE WORKING PROGRAM OF THE ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE “OLYMPIC, PROFESSIONAL AND NON-OLYMPIC SPORT” FOR FIRST-CYCLE (BACHELOR’S) STUDENTS OF THE A7 PHYSICAL CULTURE AND SPORT SPECIALTY

The article provides a structural and content analysis of the curriculum of the academic discipline «Olympic, Professional and Non-Olympic Sport» delivered to first-cycle (Bachelor’s) students enrolled in the A7 Physical Culture and Sport study program. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to update the content of professional training of future specialists in physical culture and sport under the conditions of transformation of the modern sports movement, implementation of the competence-based approach, and the increasing social role of sport.
The aim of the study is to evaluate the alignment of the curriculum structure and content with the intended learning outcomes, as well as integral, general, and professional competences defined by the national higher education standard. The study employs methods of analysis and synthesis of scholarly sources, regulatory documents and educational programs, along with comparative and logical analysis of the curriculum content modules.
The results demonstrate that the curriculum contributes to the development of a comprehensive understanding of the structure of the contemporary sports movement and the specific characteristics of Olympic, professional, and non-Olympic sport. It also supports the development of analytical thinking and the professional identity of future specialists. A clear alignment between learning outcomes and integral, general, and professional competences implemented through coherently structured curriculum modules has been identified.
The study substantiates the need for further revision of selected thematic components of the curriculum in response to current trends in sport development, including processes of professionalization, commercialization, and the expansion of non-Olympic sports. It is concluded that the analyzed academic discipline represents a significant component of bachelor-level professional education in physical culture and sport and is consistent with contemporary requirements of competence-based higher education.
