Abstract. The article provides information on the functioning of health fitness in the world that operates successfully thanks to skilled staff. The most reputable organizations in Europe and the United States that accomplish certification of fitness staff belong to those that are accredited by the National Commission of Certification Agencies. They are as follows: American Council on Exercise (ACE), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF), International Fitness Professionals Association (IFPA), National Federation of Professional Trainers (NFPT). The most popular certificated programs of all international organizations are: "Personal trainer" and "Instructor of group fitness programs". Each accredited organization has its own requirements for passing the exam to obtain the appropriate certificate. The test result becomes known immediately after it is completed. The exam should give answers to a variety of questions that may be in the form of a test, photo or video. There are various specialized programs for certified trainers. Each of them is evaluated regularly, which ensures that it meets professional standards of EuropeActive. The number of certified fitness staff increases. The international experience of certifying fitness staff is required to be taken into account while elaborating a unified standardized approach to assessing the professional level of fitness staff in Ukraine. The prospect of further research is the studying the content of international professional standards for fitness staff and to develop the domestic one.
